Newsletter June
How di ho
Better late than never, here’s the last monthly newsletter of this academic year. It’s been a very bussy and eventful year, so enjoy these last few updates.
Updates:
Activities from last month:
Committee Market
In the second half of the year we once again had a committee market. But this wasn’t a regular one. Because we still had a lot of old clothes we decided to combine it with a sale. A lot of people were intrigued by this and luckily a few people were even drawn to look at some committees.
NSTC Teams Groningen
Of course, like usual, Linea Recta was pink and present at the competition. Some even call it “The Pink Army”. Flipping, tumbling and stumbling we savaged and concurred (well kind of). There were a lot of great costumes and even funnier routines to match with that. Pictures don’t lie.
Tartaros Exchange
Our last exchange training of the year. And although it was a lot of fun, preparing for training in the rain was a bit hard for some of us cozy indoor hall gymnasts. It’d rained the whole day and the prediction wasn’t any better for during the training. Fortunately, we were some what spared. Afterwards the big, strong people from Tartaros came to our training and boy was that fun to watch. Exchange trainings with sports that are ‘harsh’ is a great idea.
ALA Activity
To celebrate and thank all the members who have been active this past year, we traditionally had the Active Member Activity. We decided to go swimming which made us sweat for a while seeing as there are some constructions going on at aquadrome. This led us to the question if we were even able to swim there. The recreational pool luckily reopened a few weeks before the activity. Afterwards, pizza was treated and every active member got a plush flamingo.
Lustrum Rohnrad
What does gymnast love? Twirling, spinning and going upside down! Well, the LustrumCie gave us one last amazing activity and we had a Rohnrad course. But we’re Linea Recta, so of course some jaws were dropped and questions like ‘Should they be doing this in their first lesson??’ were phrased. We know what we’re doing, or maybe not, but we had a hell of a good time and no one got trapped under one of the wheels.
Coming up:
Vacation!!!!!! Unfortunately there are no trainings during summer break, but we are able to go on own initiative. Otherwise we hope to see you all at the start of next year!
